Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 3 update out now8th April 2020
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s third season update is now available and it will introduce new operators alongside returning maps.
The second iteration lasted for roughly two months and it is expected this one will adopt a similar timeline.
Previous seasons added classic maps from older entries – such as Vacant and fan-favourite Rust – while also implementing original ones like Khandor Hideout.
The latest instalment will follow suit and it is already confirmed Backlot, originally in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2007), will return.
Hovec Sawmill and Aniyah Incursion are two more maps that will be available straight away. The SKS and Renetti are two new weapons that will likewise be included immediately.
Game types already available, like Gun Game and Ground War, will be updated to add new dimensions to the gameplay.
However, these will arrive later in the season, rather than upon launch.
The free-to-play battle royale mode – Warzone – will also receive an update in the form of ‘Quads’.
This will allow groups of four to do battle and be the last team standing, rather than the traditional three-man squads.
Additional details, such as new vehicles and operator skins, can be viewed on the announcement tweet below:

Alex, a popular character from the campaign mode, will be playable straight away.
However, the other two operaters – Ronin and Iskra – will be added to the game on an unannounced date.
Similarly, another Warzone mode, Scopes and Scatter Guns, will also arrive part way through.
The update for Season 3 is available now for players on all platforms.
It will require at least 11 gigabytes of free storage space, with some players reporting more is needed.
