Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 is out now11th June 2020
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Season 4 is finally available, although it is accompanied by a hefty download.
It was originally due last week, but developer Infinity Ward postponed it in favour of giving people time to focus on the Black Lives Matter movement.
The latest update clocks in at around 32gb for PS4 users, though it is different for Xbox One and PC. However, some players have reported download sizes at a staggering 100gb.
Season 4 has introduced several new pieces of content – such as the return of fan-favourite map Scrapyard – to help keep the game fresh.
The new battle pass is headlined by the introduction of Captain Price as an Operator skin while ‘events‘ have been added to the free-to-play Warzone battle royale mode.
During players’ excursions to Verdansk, one of three events will occur after the first drop and before the Gulag closes.
The first is known as a ‘Jailbreak’ and it will allow all eliminated players to return to the game, regardless of their situation.
The second – ‘Fire Sale’ – will heavily discount all purchases at the Buy Station while combatants can respawn their teammates for free.
Thirdly, there are ‘Supply Choppers’ which will spawn a non-lethal helicopter that will take many bullets and rockets to take down.
However, should players be fortunate enough to destroy it, the chopper will drop high-tier loot such as three UAVs and two Armour Boxes.
Additionally, there is a new game mode available for owners of the base game and the battle royale called ‘Warzone Rumble’.
The game type is essentially a large-scale Team Deathmatch that takes place in smaller areas of Verdansk.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 update is available for download now on all platforms.
