Cyberpunk 2077 reportedly in final stages of development1st June 2020
CD Projekt Red’s most recent financial report has seemingly confirmed Cyberpunk 2077 is in its final stages of development.
The hotly anticipated video game was originally slated for release in April, though it was delayed until September.
Given the new launch date is close to the release of both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, many had wondered whether this would halt development further.
However, CD Projekt Red revealed in the financial report that it is “carrying out the final stages of development” for Cyberpunk 2077.
As such, it should not be too long until physical copies are printed onto discs and digital versions are uploaded to online stores.
This is all but confirmation that it will release in September for the PS4 and Xbox One, with an updated iteration due for the next-generation consoles further down the line.
Some are now speculating these details were revealed in the report as the Polish studio is preparing to make an official announcement.
Interestingly, the same report suggested Cyberpunk 2077 will be the “most expansive RPG to date”.
This is a rather bold claim, given how the studio’s last title – The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – is often regarded as the greatest role-playing game in history.
Though, CD Projekt Red’s comments are bound to excite fans as they look forward to what will, hopefully, set a new benchmark for the genre.
Cyberpunk 2077 will release on September 17, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.
