Cyberpunk 2077’s quests will be ‘handcrafted’
Every single quest in the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 game will be unique and handcrafted, with no generated radiant quests present in the title.
Quest design coordinator Philipp Weber spoke on a CD Projekt Red forum about how each quest the studio handle will be bespoke.
CD Projekt Red is perhaps best-known for developing the insanely popular and much-loved The Witcher game series, based on the novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.
The Witcher 3 concluded Geralt of Rivia’s storyline back in 2015, with CD Projekt Red now developing its next IP – Cyberpunk 2077.
One of the biggest attractions for The Witcher 3 was its incredibly expansive world filled with vibrant quests that often led you astray from finishing the main plot line.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a hotly-anticipated game and fans of the series may well be wondering if the quality of quests will rival that of The Witcher 3.
“For us, quality is always more important than quantity, and we just couldn’t deliver this quality with modules we assemble in different ways to create these random quests,” Weber reveals.
“We’re making a big Open World RPG (role-playing game) of course, so that also means that despite our quests being handcrafted, we tried to make a whole lot of them, so players can have fun in the game for many hours.”
The initial release date for Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled for April 16, 2020.
