Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning officially confirmed5th June 2020
A Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning remaster has been officially confirmed and it will release in August.
The original game – which released back in 2012 – was created by author R.A. Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion lead designer Ken Rolston.
It could have been a classic, though it performed poorly on a commercial level.
To rub salt in the wounds, developer 38 Studios suffered a rather dramatic downfall before selling the franchise to THQ Nordic in 2018.
While it boasted a loyal group of fans, ultimately, its success was overshadowed by the woes of its developer and its lack of sales.
However, it will now be remastered under the name of Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning.
The news arrived shortly after a leak emerged on the Microsoft Store, prompting much speculation on the game’s return.
The official Twitter account for the game then confirmed the news, writing:
“The rumours are true! Prepare for a Re-Reckoning, because Kingdoms of Amalur is coming back.
“Remastered with stunning visuals and refined gameplay, it’s soon time to an epic RPG journey and all its DLC like never before.”
