Marvel’s Avengers director is a big fan of MMOs19th January 2020
While Marvel’s Avengers has enjoyed much success on the big screen, it will soon be making its way to video game consoles and its director is an avid gamer.
There have been several titles released under the franchise’s name in the past (such as Marvel Ultimate Alliance which lets players devise their own team of chosen heroes), but with the recent popularity found in the cinematic universe, Crystal Dynamics is developing another one.
It won’t feature the stars who portrayed the various superheroes such as Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and so on, but it does feature the Avengers from the films.
Recently it was announced the project would be pushed back, but there was surprisingly little outrage from fans.
Earlier this week eGaming Desk reported on how Apex Legends was the most downloaded free-to-play title on the PS4 in 2019.
The figures were taken from PlayStation’s end-of-year ‘Wrap-Up’ event and in the same spirit, Casey Lynch, editorial director at Crystal Dynamics tweeted his own statistics.
His top three most played video games for 2019 were Warframe with 487 hours, Destiny 2 with 236 hours and Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 with 140 hours.

Interestingly, all three of these titles are massively multiplayer online (MMO) games, though they are different genres.
This should add fresh hope to fans eagerly awaiting the release of Marvel’s Avengers since at the very least the developers are gaming enthusiasts as well.
