New Call of Duty is reportedly a sequel to the first Black Ops26th August 2020
The upcoming Call of Duty game – rumoured to be centred on the Cold War – is reportedly going to be a sequel to the original Black Ops.
Recently, data miners have been unearthing a wide array of supposed details for Warzone, Modern Warfare, and the new entry to the franchise.
The leaked description for forthcoming title states:
“The iconic Black Ops series is back with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War – the direct sequel to the original and fan-favourite Call of Duty: Black Ops.”
It then proceeds to shed light on some notable locations that will be featured in it, such as East Berlin and the KGB headquarters.
As is tradition with Call of Duty games set in certain time periods, the upcoming entry is tipped to bring a “Cold War arsenal of weapons and equipment into the next generation of Multiplayer and Zombies experiences”.
Reportedly, those who pre-order the Ultimate Edition will receive a special Frank Woods operator for Modern Warfare and Warzone alongside early access to the open beta.
However, other leaks suggest that the iconic Woods – who featured in the original Black Ops – will actually be purchasable as an Operator Bundle in the current game.
Interestingly, the Call of Duty Twitter page posted a cryptic tweet suggesting a new contract type will arrive in Warzone at 6:30pm in the UK.
At the time of writing, it is not known what the new contract will be, or how closely it will be tied to the upcoming Black Ops Cold War game.
