Respawn on the prowl for new staff to work on Star Wars projects
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order may only have been released last month, but developer Respawn and publisher EA are already on the search for new staff.
Despite one or two bugs, the game has received much acclaim for being one of the finest to be released using the franchise’s name.
It follows the journey of Jedi Knight Cal Kestis in the ‘darkest’ period in the order’s history, and is set between ‘Revenge of the Sith’ where Emperor Palpatine executes ‘Order 66’ and ‘A New Hope’.
Its combat takes inspiration from the beloved Dark Souls series though it presents multiple difficulty options to ensure it is accessible for all audiences.
It also marked Respawn’s first venture into single-player action/adventure games, with its previous endeavours being multiplayer shooters such as Titanfall and Apex Legends.
Following the success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, EA is now advertising for several job roles on its website for Respawn’s Star Wars team.
These include a new senior software engineer, level designer and senior character artist.
The first position ad reads “we’re picturing someone who is passionate about the Star Wars universe and is invigorated by the idea of coding a third-person action/adventure games”.
This is far from confirmation about a sequel to the newly-released title, but it is does confirm Respawn will be in the driver’s seat for another project under the famous franchise. It also confirms the developer’s next venture will once again be from a third-person perspective.
