Gareth Bale launches eSports team
Football superstar Gareth Bale has launched his own eSports team.
The Wales and Real Madrid legend looks to have his sights set beyond the beautiful game as the co-owner of Ellevens eSports alongside former footballer Larry Cohen and entrepreneur Jonathan Kirk.
The team will make its highly-anticipated debut at the FIFA eWorld Cup in Milan later this week.
The 30-year-old has already started to invite gamers throughout the world to get involved with the newly-launched team, seeking fresh talent to join the ranks.
Ellevens eSports has already snapped up talent from Brazil and Bale’s home country Wales, according to reports.
Commenting on the move, Bale posted a video on Twitter in which he said: “I love the way it unites so many people, but I want to take it a step further.”

The Madridista isn’t the only professional athlete to dive into the world of eSports. Arsenal star Mesut Özil likewise has a competitive team known as M10 eSports.
Turkish footballing behemoth Galatasary also has an organisation, though recently there was trouble when several of its pro players took to social media to voice concerns over allegedly not being paid on time.
With the recent breaking news, all eyes on will be on the FIFA eWorld Cup in Milan as Bale’s team makes its debut.
