Elon Musk jokes about putting The Witcher game into Teslas
Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk has recently found himself smitten with The Witcher – and even quipped he might put a game into Teslas.
The SpaceX CEO became obsessed with Netflix’s TV show adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowki’s short stories and novels.
It follows Geralt of Rivia, a witcher, who slays supernatural monsters for money, enhanced by various potions and concoctions given to them as children before they become fully-fledged monster hunters.
The show closely mirrors the events of the first two short story collections and the earliest sections of the first novel ‘Blood of Elves’.
It has been a massive success for Netflix and became one of the platform’s most watched shows for 2019.
While Musk’s first introduction to the franchise seems to be from the show, it has now extended beyond the small screen.
He tweeted: “Want to play The Witcher game game on your Tesla? (You can already watch the show on Tesla Netflix theatre).”
The two options were “Yes [tosses coin]” or “No, I have the plague” with the former being a reference to the ballad ‘Toss a coin to your witcher’ from the show.
Unsurprisingly, the responses of 690,000 people were overwhelmingly in support of adding a game to the car at 85%.

Two highly-liked replies were imploring Musk to also add Minecraft and Kerbal Space Program to Tesla vehicles as well, both of which he seemed to be in favour of adding.
While the electric car can already support native games by utilising the steering wheel as a controller, the titles are far less intensive than say The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and so it remains unclear if he would actually add it in.
