Uncharted movie now delayed until March 202130th January 2020
Despite eyeing up its seventh director, the Uncharted movie has once again been delayed – this time until March 2021.
There’s been many twist and turns in the development of the film, leaving fans wondering whether it should even go ahead.
Spider-Man actor Tom Holland is set to don the role of main character Nathan Drake, a renowned treasure hunter.
Fellow A-lister Mark Wahlberg will be portraying Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan, long-time friend of the protagonist.
Despite having such high-profile names attached to the project, its life-span has been turbulent to say the least.
It recently lost its sixth director, Travis Knight, reportedly because of Holland’s busy Hollywood schedule. The news – while unfortunate – was far from expected, given the cinematic motion picture’s troubled history.
Then it emerged it was eyeing up the next person to spearhead the project – Ruben Fleischer – whose notable works include Venom and Zombieland.
Rumblings suggest he is Sony’s number one pick atop the short list, though no confirmation has arrived indicating he would be interested in the role.
The latest bump in the road means the project will be pushed back by three months but, given past trifles and a distinct lack of information on both cast and script, it remains to be seen whether it will even hit the cinemas.
Sony has opted to pull the rug from under its Master of the Universe (He-Man) film’s release date, which will now be replaced by the Uncharted movie, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
The new release date is slated for March 5 2021.
