Death Stranding will have a ‘very easy mode’ for casual gamers
Death Stranding – an upcoming video game featuring The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus – will have a “very easy mode” for players who only want to experience the story.
Death Stranding is currently in development by Kojima Productions which is known for the Metal Gear Solid game series.
Hideo Kojima is the head of Kojima Productions, though the studio was not officially formed until 2005. Prior to that the development of games was named under Konami.
Death Stranding features several well-known actors, including Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal), Léa Seydoux (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) and Lindsay Wagner (The Bionic Woman).
Twitter user Kaizerkunkun – who works for Hideo Kojima – tweeted that she had completed a playthrough on ‘very easy mode.’
She tweeted: “Finished DS (Death Stranding) test play. It took a month as I was playing while doing daily work since 8/6. As being a beginner I picked very easy mode. According to my boss, this mode is for people who usually don’t play games, movie fans or RPG fans.”
Hideo Kojima then quoted the tweet providing further clarification on why the game will feature a very easy mode.
He tweeted: “Usually it is up to easy, but Norman, Mads, Rare etc have appeared, so we prepared very easy so that it can be enjoyed by non-game-experienced Western fans.”
Death Stranding having a very easy mode will come as good news for fans of Reedus, Mikkelsen and co, who only want to experience the narrative of the game. Higher difficulty modes will still be present for more seasoned gamers who are looking for more of a challenge.
Death Stranding will be released for PlayStation 4 on November 8.
