FaZe Jarvis permanently banned from Fortnite

Cheaters rarely go unpunished in the world of video games – especially internet celebrities – and FaZe Jarvis is no exception.

The rising star has been permanently banned from the popular free-to-play battle royale game Fortnite after deploying performance-enhancing software.

The streaming sensation – who has amassed nearly two million followers – admitted to using an ‘aimbot’ in a video while playing the shooter.

The software assists the user with aiming to the point where they rarely, if ever, miss a shot.

Epic Games – the developer behind the hit title – is stringent when it comes to foul play and predictably dished out a life time ban.

The seventeen-year-old has since uploaded a video to YouTube explaining how he used the cheat for entertainment purposes and did not consider Fortnite’s terms of service.

He has been placed on a permanent blacklist which means he cannot create new accounts to circumvent the ban.

In the video he references how this is a first time offence and that he has never used the cheat during a competitive match before.

Ironically, during the video that resulted in his ban, Jarvis says “when you make a new account and use aimbot, you’ll get banned really easily”.

It is interesting to see the streamer act like he did not know he would receive a ban while having publicly stated it is easy to obtain one when using the cheat software.

Considering Jarvis represents one of gaming’s biggest groups in FaZe, it remains to be seen how the the organisation will react to Epic Games’ decision.
