Rumour: Rockstar developing open-world Medieval game
Rockstar is rumoured to be working on its next hit title – a Medieval-based open-world game.
A leak was posted to Reddit with the user suggesting the news should be taken with a pinch of salt, since nothing has been confirmed by the developer.
They then elaborate on the source, suggesting it has been correct in the past with Grand Theft Auto: Online downloadable content (DLC) and Red Dead Redemption 2 narrative details.
“Rockstar’s next game will not be Bully 2 or GTA 5,” the post reads.
“They are developing an open-world game with a medieval setting. Swordfighting/dueling will be a mechanic.
“Obviously sounds crazy and you have no reason to believe me, but as I said they have been reliable before. I fully believe time will prove me right. Asking me anything is pretty useless as I don’t know anything other than what I’ve said.”
They continue to reveal the release date is currently targeted for the first quarter of 2021 while the announcement isn’t too far away.
Previously, there has been a significant increase in ‘leaks’ suggesting Bully 2 was in development by Rockstar, but none were particularly credible.
It is worth noting that the user who posted the rumour only created their account yesterday – something which often calls validity into question.
Until the developer itself decides to make an official announcement on its next venture, it remains unclear what it will be.
Considering the PlayStation 5 and Project Scarlett are set for release in the holiday season of 2020, it is likely the next game will be released on around then, but more perhaps early 2021.
